Husband and wife team Matthew and Justine Leedam opened Song & Dance in August 2004, with the aim of providing music, dance and theatre products all under one roof . The footfall through the shop declined with the increase in on line purchases so sadly we closed our doors in October 2013 and decided to work from home.
Not defeated though, we realised that many Ballerina’s were struggling to get a good fitting for their pointe shoes. So now we provide an excellent pointe shoe fitting service! Our pointe shoe fitting service in the shop was extremely popular and had great feedback so we have taken this service to a new level.
We now offer fittings by appointment, where the Ballerina visits us for a fitting or we come out and visit you at your dance school. Dance school visits are very popular as we can fit a whole class in one visit and any other dancers who are in need of a new pair of pointe shoes. We also offer a darning service. This is our most popular product as many people find this a very difficult and time consuming task. Our darning service means you can just post your pointe shoes or soft pointe shoes to us and they will be returned to you within a week (approx.).
